Washington DC Dental Office Tour

Our office is modern, clean and comfortable. The goal is to create an environment which makes patients feel like they are not in a traditional dental office. We find that the soothing colors, curved walls and open floor plan make patients feel more relaxed and happier. We have state of the art sterilization procedures and use bottled water for our dental equipment. This insures us that any problems or concerns with the D.C. water supply won’t affect our office. We take great pride in our cleanliness and our attention to detail related to sterilization of our instruments. Your safety is our number 1 priority.

Our Technology

 Intraoral Camera
We utilize several areas of high technology to help us treat our patients. Our intraoral camera can help us by taking high quality photos of the surfaces of teeth. We view these images on the television screens present in each room to help show patients the problems present in that specific tooth. This allows us to examine the tooth in an enlarged image, helping to locate cracks and identify other areas of damage in a tooth.

For those patients who want their teeth whitened in an hour, we offer the Britesmile procedure. In three 20-minute sessions, your teeth will become their brightest. The procedure takes about 90 minutes in total (including set up and clean up) and can be accomplished any time you wish. Often patients will come for this procedure during a lunch break from work. The results of this Power whitening are usually dramatic and patient satisfaction is very high.

AFTER

Direct TV

Since your comfort is a high goal at our office, we offer satellite TVs in each of our treatment rooms. You may select any channel you wish to watch or listen to during your dental treatment to help you feel at ease during your appointment.

Digital X-Rays

We are proud to offer our patients the benefits of the latest technology available in the world of digital radiography. By using digital X rays, the amount of radiation used is greatly reduced, and the results can be viewed immediately, thus reducing the length of some appointments. The image quality is outstanding, and we are able to view the enhanced image on the computer to aid in difficult diagnoses. It is also a great way for our patients to be more involved with their treatment decisions, as we can have discussions about treatment needs with both of us seeing the same image on the computer screen.

Carivu uses infrared technology (without ANY radiation) to detect cavities under old fillings, new cavities as well as cracks in teeth.

CEREC Same-Day Crowns

Our office offers CEREC single visit dentistry for crowns, onlays and more. CEREC is a technology used by dentists worldwide to replace fillings, restore teeth with crowns the same day, strengthen teeth weakened by cracks, restore broken teeth and more. Using all ceramic materials that match your tooth color, these restorations can be done in one visit instead of two. Using digital imaging technology, data is collected during your visit using the acquisition unit and transferred to the milling unit through infrared signals. The milling unit then fabricates your custom restoration. Once the fit is confirmed, your restoration is given a natural life-like glaze and bonded into place.

3D Imaging -Cone Beam CT Scan

The CBCT Scan System gives our prosthodontic and general practice state-of-the-art technology to help Drs. Markowitz and McGorry diagnose potential issues more accurately and provide treatment with unprecedented confidence. Unlike a traditional spiral CT scanner, this 3D system utilizes cone beam CT technology and provides precise, crystal-clear digital images while minimizing your exposure to radiation.

Our 3D system enables us to perform a wider range of diagnoses and treatments in our office, helping to reduce multiple visits. The CBCT Scanner allows us to choose the field of view, or scanning area, that best suits your specific treatment needs. This helps to limit your radiation exposure because we are focusing specifically on your area of concern.

The CSBCT System brings the latest 3D technology to Markowitz Dental, providing unmatched visualization of anatomical detail which aids in treatment planning and helps us to better explain the particulars of your case, address any questions you may have and allow you to collaborate on your care, improving your experience, and delivering a positive treatment outcome.
